A New Home

If you recall in February we put our house up for sale. We got 4 contracts and officially went under contract at the beginning of April. yay! We have been in our new house for almost 2 weeks now! Our house is not "new" though. At all. It was built in 1927. I have always, ever since I was little, said I was going to live in a certain area of our city, that has old house, brick streets, and trees. Tons of trees. When we married 10 years ago, I brought my husband over here and told him that we would one day live here. About 8 months ago, I saw this house on the market. WAY more than we wanted to spend, I thought, maybe one day.. Then, around Christmas, I noticed they dropped the price..still way more than we wanted to spend. We came to an open house in January "just to look" and I LOVED it. We put our house on the market a week later, and I prayed that it all would work out if it was in God's plan. We looked at other houses along the way, and found nice ones..but just not "this" one. When we got a contract on our house, I brought my Realtor in and asked if she thought we would even have a chance at it at the price we wanted it for. She said, "I'm always up for trying!" So we started pretty low on our first offer, and they of course countered..not even close. Not wanting to waste time negotiating, we just gave them our best offer. I prayed that if this was meant to be, they would take it with no counter at all. They took it, we moved in! I can't wait to show pictures, but my camera battery died, and I can't find the charger! Ahh! I will show the pictures as soon as I find it! We are so thankful and blessed that this all worked out. We have met all of our new neighbors, they are all so kind. I told my husband that we never met that many neighbors in our old neighborhood even after living there almost 7 years! We are settling in nicely, and really starting to feel at home.

Good Morning Sunshine

Yesterday morning I woke up at 3AM for good. I was still tired, but couldn't go back to sleep.
Last night, I was so very tired, but as I watched Jaiden before bed, I could tell he wasn't feeling well and was trying to keep from throwing up..well he finally did, I was up with him off and on all night. Bless his heart, he was so uncomfortable. He is seeming a bit better now.

I woke up and thought of how to make the most of my morning, even though I just wanted to sleep.
After making the other boys' breakfast, I made myself my favorite breakfast and read some wonderful blogs, and I thought I could share all of that here with you.

First of all, one of my favorite breakfasts. This is so easy and tasty, there is really no reason at all I shouldn't have it more often!

You need:

1 piece of whole wheat toast
1 T (or so) of pesto
1 egg over easy (or your favorite way)
a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese

For the juice you need:

1/2 cup of orange juice
1/2 cup of cranberry juice

There you have it.
Very easy and filling breakfast.
A good way to start a sleepy day.

Good Morning Reading:

Why Pray the Hours? Written by Joel J. Miller. Much to think and pray about. I would love to make this an everyday part of our lives.

Everything Is New

I just love Spring..I'm sure I've mentioned this before ha.
It's a time when things come to life.
Everything is fresh and new.
It's all about new life.

IMG_1432

As we celebrate Jesus' Resurrection this weekend, I love to take time to ponder the new life we can have through His sacrifice. It's not just a big part our our lives, it's everything.

IMG_1448

It's all about love.
He did it because of love for us.
It's overwhelming to even think about everything he went through just for us.

IMG_1453

He didn't have to. He chose to.

If you do anything at all, give up your life and live to worship and praise Him.
Even the stars, flowers, and animals are here to glorify Him and praise Him.
 (read Psalm 148)

If we are in Him, then this much bigger than eggs, candy, nicest clothes, and bunnies. In fact, what does all of that even mean?

It was and always should be all about Him.
Live to praise Him. To bring glory to Him. To honor Him. To obey Him.
Jesus Christ.

"Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer. But this I know with all my heart. his wounds have paid my ransom."

In Christ alone my hope is found. He is my light..

Tough Mudder

Last weekend, we packed up and went to watch Dan do the Tough Mudder.

It is a huge 10 mile muddy obstacle course.
It looks hard, but fun.
I think he loved it.

Here he is, ready to go!
